Which B2B lead generation tool fits Switzerland?

Sources and comparison method

We build Prospex, one of the tools compared here. We read the public product and pricing pages of the other providers on 6 October 2026, and those of Dun & Bradstreet, CRIF, InfobelPRO and Kompass on 8 October 2026. We last read business-monitor.ch's pricing page on 6 September 2026. Prices are the published list prices, excluding VAT. We have not measured any provider's coverage of Swiss companies or contacts; the section on testing coverage explains how to check it with your own customers.

No single tool covers B2B lead generation in Switzerland on its own, because the work has two parts that different tools handle. The first is choosing the companies: which Swiss firms fit what you sell. The second is reaching the people in them: names, roles, email addresses and phone numbers. Global contact databases such as Apollo, Cognism, Lusha and LinkedIn Sales Navigator are built for the second part. Tools that start from the Swiss commercial register, such as Moneyhouse, business-monitor.ch, swiss-companies.ch and Prospex, are built for the first. B2B data providers such as Dun & Bradstreet, CRIF, InfobelPRO and Kompass sell company files, credit data and contacts, so they cover some of both. Many Swiss sales teams combine one tool from each group.

Switzerland had 649,353 enterprises and other institutional units in 2024, and 579,431 of them, 89%, had fewer than ten employees (Federal Statistical Office, STATENT). Prospex's copy of the commercial register held 739,919 entries on 26 September 2026 that were neither in liquidation nor struck off; our Swiss B2B market size guide explains the gap between the two counts. Of the providers compared here, five publish a Swiss figure. Apollo and Leadfeeder publish worldwide totals only, and Cognism and Lusha publish no figure.

Which B2B data provider covers the most Swiss SMEs?

InfobelPRO states the highest Swiss company count, 1,361,475, and swiss-companies.ch the most Swiss contacts, 4 million. Each figure is the provider's own, and none is measured independently. Next to the register's 739,919 active entries, the providers state:

ProviderSwiss companies statedSwiss contacts stated
InfobelPRO1,361,475, sourced from Zefix658,000
Dun & Bradstreet (CreditCheck)More than 1 million, of which more than 650,000 activeNot published
swiss-companies.ch800,0004 million
CRIF (Margo)More than 650,000 company addressesNot published
Prospex (commercial register)739,919 active entries on 26 September 2026—

Sources: each provider's own pages, read on 6 or 8 October 2026. Kompass publishes no current Swiss figure.

A count well above the register's 739,919 active entries probably includes companies in liquidation or struck off, as Dun & Bradstreet's split between its total and its active companies shows. Ask a provider how many of its Swiss companies are active before you compare totals. For firms with fewer than ten employees, check whether the provider holds a named contact at all.

A contact database grows from what people and companies leave online: LinkedIn profiles, company websites, email signatures, event lists. A carpentry firm with four employees and a one-page website leaves few such traces, so a global database may hold the company without anyone who works there, or miss it altogether. The commercial register works the other way round. A GmbH or an AG only comes into existence with its entry, and the entry names its officers and signatories, without any email addresses.

Swiss companies often describe their purpose in German, French or Italian, and sometimes in two of them. A search for "precision engineering" in an English-language database can therefore miss a company that describes itself as "Feinmechanik" or "mécanique de précision".

Contact databases: Sales Navigator, Apollo, Cognism and Lusha

LinkedIn Sales Navigator searches the profiles people keep up themselves, which makes it the usual starting point for finding the decision maker in a Swiss company. It filters by company size, region and seniority, and lets you message people through InMail. It does not supply email addresses or phone numbers, so teams pair it with an enrichment tool.

Apollo, Cognism and Lusha sell the email addresses and phone numbers. Above Apollo's Basic plan, Professional costs USD 79 per seat a month and Organization USD 119 per seat with a minimum of three seats, both billed annually. Cognism quotes each customer a price. Lusha's Starter plan buys 400 credits a month, enough for 400 email addresses or 80 phone numbers. None of the three publishes how many Swiss companies or Swiss contacts it holds.

Website visitors: Leadfeeder

Dealfront now goes by Leadfeeder, the name of its website-visitor product, which answers a different question: which companies already visited your website. It matches visits to companies through their IP address and adds company and contact data from its database. Verified emails and phones start with the Activate plan at EUR 369 a month, billed annually. It suits teams whose website already draws Swiss business traffic.

B2B data providers: Dun & Bradstreet, CRIF, InfobelPRO and Kompass

Dun & Bradstreet sells Swiss teams a global company and contact database, D&B Hoovers, whose Essentials plan includes email addresses, direct lines and mobile numbers for CHF 209 a month with 100 company and 100 contact exports. Its CreditCheck service, built on data from Dun & Bradstreet and Intrum, covers credit checks, monitoring and SHAB news for Swiss companies.

With CRIF's Margo platform, you select target groups from more than 650,000 Swiss company addresses and send them campaigns; its product page lists no contact email addresses or phone numbers. CRIF also sells credit reports and scores built on debt-collection data and bankruptcy notices. Both are priced on request, and Margo has a free trial.

Swiss company data from InfobelPRO comes as a file or through an API, with UIDs, addresses and about one contact for every two companies. Kompass's EasyBusiness lists companies and decision makers with email addresses, phone numbers and LinkedIn profiles, collected by its own researchers in 70 countries. Neither publishes a price.

Swiss company data: Moneyhouse, business-monitor.ch, swiss-companies.ch and Prospex

Moneyhouse is built around research on one company: managers, ownership, credit ratings and connections between people and firms. Premium adds filtered search by legal form, turnover, headcount, location and sector, and unlimited monitoring. business-monitor.ch builds filtered prospect lists from the register and sells exports by quota. Our Moneyhouse comparison and business-monitor.ch comparison cover both in more detail.

swiss-companies.ch adds business contacts to the register data, so it sits between the two groups. Katch, from Geneva, finds local businesses through Google Places, looks up their email addresses through Hunter.io and sends the campaigns. Its monthly price excludes those providers' charges, which Katch estimates at CHF 64 to 429 a month depending on volume.

Prospex starts from a description of your customers, for example "Swiss engineering firms that design heating and ventilation for commercial buildings". It returns the companies that match, with the reason each one belongs and what it could not confirm, then follows them for changes such as a new managing director or a capital increase. Teams send the companies to HubSpot or Attio, or take them through the API or a CSV.

How to test a tool's Swiss coverage before you pay

The contact databases publish worldwide totals at most, and none of them publishes a figure for Switzerland. A test with your own customers takes about an hour:

  1. Pick 20 companies you know well. Take them from your customers and recent deals, and include some with fewer than ten employees, some in French- or Italian-speaking cantons, and one or two Swiss subsidiaries of foreign groups.
  2. Look each one up in the free plan or trial. Search by name and by website. Check that the result is the Swiss company, since a company abroad may share its name; the UID settles it when the tool shows one.
  3. Count three things per company. Is the company there? Is the person you would actually call there, in the right role? Are the email address and phone number correct, as far as you know them?
  4. Compare the totals across tools. A tool that finds 18 companies but 6 of the right people is a company source. One that finds 12 companies and 11 of the people is a contact source with gaps in your segment.

Run the same 20 companies through each tool you shortlist, so the totals compare. Before you send the first campaign, read our guide to reviewing a Swiss prospect list.

Which combination fits your team?

A small team selling to Swiss SMEs in one region usually gets most from a register-based list of the companies that fit, with Sales Navigator to find the person to call. Our guide to building a Swiss target-account list walks through the method with a real manufacturing example.

Large Swiss companies and international groups are more likely to appear in any database, so a team selling to them mostly needs to reach the right person. For that team, Apollo, Cognism or Lusha, tested on the 20 companies above, is the part worth paying for. An outbound agency running campaigns for several clients usually needs both, plus a way to keep each client's list current as companies change.

Frequently asked questions

Does Apollo have good data on Swiss companies?
Apollo does not publish a figure for Switzerland. Its pricing page states 240 million contacts and 30 million companies worldwide, and coverage of small Swiss companies depends on what they publish online: 89% of Swiss enterprises had fewer than ten employees in 2024 (BFS, STATENT). The reliable check is to look up 20 of your own customers in Apollo's free plan and count how many companies, and how many of the right people, it finds.
Which B2B data provider has the best coverage of Swiss SMEs?
On their own pages in October 2026, InfobelPRO stated the highest Swiss company count, 1,361,475 companies with 658,000 contacts, and swiss-companies.ch the most contacts, 4 million for 800,000 companies. Dun & Bradstreet and CRIF stated more than 650,000 Swiss companies each. None of these figures is measured independently. The commercial register held 739,919 active entries on 26 September 2026, so a higher count probably includes companies in liquidation or struck off. To compare providers, look up 20 of your own customers, including some with fewer than ten employees, in each free plan or trial.
What is the difference between a contact database and a Swiss company database?
A contact database such as Apollo, Cognism or Lusha sells contact details: names, roles, email addresses and phone numbers, collected from LinkedIn profiles, websites and other online traces. A Swiss company database starts from the commercial register, where every GmbH and AG is entered with its officers and signatories but no email addresses. Swiss sales teams often use a register-based database to choose the companies and a contact database to reach the people in them.
How much do B2B lead generation tools cost in Switzerland?
On 6 October 2026, published entry prices ranged from free plans to about CHF 200 a month. Apollo's Basic plan cost USD 49 per user a month billed annually, Lusha's Starter USD 49.90 a month, swiss-companies.ch Lite CHF 85 a month and Katch CHF 185 a month plus a setup fee. Cognism quotes its prices on request. Prospex has a free account, and its paid plans start at CHF 49 a month.
How do I find decision makers at small Swiss companies?
The commercial register entry of every Swiss GmbH and AG names its managing directors, board members and signatories, and it is free to read on Zefix. For a company with a few employees, that entry often names the person who decides. LinkedIn Sales Navigator or a contact database then supplies the profile or the email address, where one exists.
