Choosing a business-monitor.ch alternative for Swiss prospecting

Sources and comparison method

We build Prospex. Product details were checked against the cited documentation on 6 September 2026. This comparison covers documented features; we have not run a performance benchmark between providers.

Prospex is a business-monitor.ch alternative for Swiss B2B teams building and monitoring a list of target companies. Describe your market to see companies with reasons for their inclusion. business-monitor.ch already offers prospect lists and account monitoring. The useful comparison is how each tool handles your targeting work. Prospex's integrations connect that company data to your CRM or your preferred contact-enrichment tool, so you can add the people to approach to your target list.

Prospex vs business-monitor.ch: building and maintaining a list

This comparison concerns the Swiss service at business-monitor.ch. Its Sales hunter product combines segmentation with exports and notifications. Its FAQ also describes website enrichment, including product descriptions and keywords. Both products use information beyond the commercial register.

Your taskbusiness-monitor.chProspex
Define the target group Combine filters such as region, industry, size and keywords. Describe the companies you want, add example companies if useful, and set market filters.
Review relevance Inspect company information and adjust your selection criteria. Review fit reasons and missing information. Keep a company, move it to Explore or exclude it with a reason.
Find contacts Contact data where publicly available; the FAQ mentions direct director emails in some cases. Connect selected companies to your contact-enrichment tool through CRM integrations, the REST API, CSV/JSON feeds or webhooks. Your chosen provider adds the contact details.
Take the list elsewhere Sales hunter supports Excel/CSV downloads, subject to its export allowance. Paid access includes dated CSV downloads with fit reasons, up to 1,000 rows from the selected market list per download.
Follow the accounts Company watchlists and notifications for new companies matching saved target groups. A paid watch can follow a market, including companies added later, and link changes to their sources.

Try a brief that captures how your customers operate

Suppose you sell quality-management software to manufacturers. An illustrative brief is: "Swiss companies that manufacture precision components in Switzerland and sell to other businesses". Add your preferred employee-size bands. A company that distributes imported components may share an industry label with a manufacturer, but needs a different assessment against this brief.

  1. Write the operating criteria. Specify what the company makes and where it produces. Add relevant existing customers as examples if you have them.
  2. Inspect the first results. Read the fit reason and open its source. Look for evidence of manufacturing in Switzerland. Leave uncertain cases unresolved.
  3. Refine the list. Keep suitable companies, exclude distributors that fall outside your definition, and record the reason. A missing size estimate is still missing evidence.
  4. Choose what happens next. With paid access, export a reviewed list or create a watch. Decide which changes would justify another look at an account.

For a real example you can inspect before signing up, the published manufacturing market includes Trimos S.A. and Reiden Technik AG, with the reasons for their inclusion. It was captured on 12 August 2026 using a broader manufacturing brief, without example companies. It illustrates Prospex's output; the steps above are a proposed exercise, and no Business Monitor results were measured alongside it.

What do the plans and exports include?

On 6 September 2026, Business Monitor's pricing page lists Sales hunter at CHF 99/month excluding VAT, including 200 prospect exports per month. Extra addresses can be purchased separately. Enterprise starts at CHF 5,000/year excluding VAT, with an export quota starting at 10,000 prospects per year. Confirm the billing terms and allowance for the plan you choose.

A free Prospex account lets you build one market and see its first ten companies after confirming your email address. No card is required. Full market access, CSV exports and list monitoring require paid access. Design-partner pricing is agreed directly with Prospex. The current CSV download includes up to 1,000 rows from the selected market list, such as Core or Explore, per download. For a larger export, discuss your required volume before subscribing.

To compare costs, specify a task: for example, 500 company records to review this month and a watch on the accounts you retain. Ask each provider for the total cost and included contact fields for that task. Prospex's free preview does not establish that its paid service is cheaper.

What changes will reach you?

With Prospex Watch, you can follow a market or selected companies. A market-linked watch includes subsequent matches. The weekly digest arrives on Monday; optional alerts between digests have a minimum three-hour interval per watch. Changes link to public sources so you can assess what happened before deciding to contact an account.

Business Monitor's saved-target notifications already cover newly matching companies, and its watchlists cover changes to selected accounts. If these functions meet your needs, continuing with Business Monitor may be the practical choice. A recorded change alone does not prove that a company intends to buy.

When should you keep business-monitor.ch or choose another source?

Keep business-monitor.ch on your shortlist if you need contact information with your prospect export, or already get useful results from its filters and alerts. Check contact availability on a sample that represents your customers: a named director is not a guarantee of a direct email address.

Questions before switching

How can I add decision-maker contacts to my Prospex list?

Send companies to HubSpot or Attio and use your CRM's enrichment tools to add contacts. For your own workflow, the REST API and CSV/JSON feeds let you pass company records to the enrichment tool you choose. Project webhooks can trigger that workflow when a prospect's research is ready.

For example, bring a market into Clay and use company domains to find relevant people and their work email addresses. Prospex supplies the company context; your enrichment provider supplies the contact details. Include that provider's coverage and charges when comparing the total cost.

Can I move my existing Business Monitor list?

Discuss your existing list with Prospex before changing subscriptions. You can watch a market or select companies individually; starred companies can also be used to create a watch. Prospex's published offer does not include automatic transfer of a Business Monitor list.

How can I check relevance before paying?

Build your free market and review the first ten companies against written criteria. Note useful matches and unresolved cases. Those first results help you assess the workflow; they are not a random sample or a measurement of the whole market.

Build a free market . One market, first ten companies visible after email confirmation. Paid access is required for exports and list monitoring.
