How to Monitor a Swiss Company for Changes, Free
You can get a free email when a Swiss company's commercial-register entry changes, including when the company is dissolved after a bankruptcy or goes into liquidation. For one company, Prospex's free company watch needs no account: you pick the company, confirm your email address, and each new register publication in the SHAB reaches you on the day it appears. SHAB also supports search subscriptions, and Moneyhouse includes two follows with free registration.

Set up a free Prospex watch for one company
- Open Watch one Swiss company, free. The form needs JavaScript.
- Enter the legal name or UID, then select the matching company from the results. Check the UID and canton shown so that you follow the right legal entity.
- Enter your email address and select Start watching.
- Open the confirmation email and follow its link within three weeks. Monitoring starts when you confirm.
You can have one active company watch per email address. A second signup does not add another company to that address. To change companies, use the stop-watching link for your current watch, then set up the new one.
What arrives, and when
After the daily SHAB import, eligible new register changes are collected into an email. The alert identifies the company and the change, includes the published register text and links to the source. Long publication text may be shortened in the email; open the source for the complete notice. Use the stop-watching link in an alert to unsubscribe.
The free watch covers commercial-register changes from the watch start date, with no historical catch-up. It does not include job postings, website changes or trademark alerts. Delivery depends on publication and processing, so an alert is not an instant notification of the underlying event.
If the confirmation email is missing, check your spam folder and the address you entered. A quiet inbox after activation can simply mean there has been no eligible new publication. Check the company's recent SHAB notices when you need to verify its current situation.
Subscribe directly to SHAB searches
SHAB supports email subscriptions to saved searches. Create a user profile, search for the company, inspect the results, then save and subscribe to the filter. The official subscription instructions explain how to manage it.
The search period controls delivery: "Today" gives daily delivery, "Last 7 days" weekly delivery, and "Last month" monthly delivery. An unrestricted search or a custom date range can be saved but cannot be subscribed to. Review the company match and selected notice categories before relying on the alert.
Use Moneyhouse or Swissreg for additional alerts
Moneyhouse's follow instructions allow two companies, people or keywords with free registration. Select Follow on the relevant profile and manage notifications in your account. Its membership comparison confirms two free company or person follows; check the current plan for any additional data you need.
For trademarks, run a publication search in Swissreg, check the owner, then use the star above the results to save it and activate monitoring while signed in. The IPI's search help documents this workflow. A trademark publication can justify research into a product; it does not establish that a launch has occurred.
Keep a baseline for manual checks
Use Zefix to identify the company and open its cantonal register record. Save the UID, source link, date checked and latest publication you reviewed. On the next visit, compare with that baseline and record what changed.
Cantonal services differ. For example, Zurich lists free uncertified extracts and supporting documents. That does not establish an email-monitoring service. Verify the relevant canton's offering separately. For other research questions, use the Swiss company data sources guide.
Move to a larger watchlist when checks become hard to maintain
