HubSpot

OAuth, both directions: companies pushed out, your portal mirrored back in, and approved openers delivered as tasks.

A HubSpot connection runs in both directions. Companies and events go out of Prospex into your portal, your portal's companies come back in to label what you are looking at, and everything Prospex knows can be written onto the records you already had.

Turning it on

  1. Go to prospex.ch/app/accounts/ and connect HubSpot. A standard OAuth install, asking to read and write companies, read owners, and read and write contacts.
  2. The first mirror pass starts on its own and brings your companies in. A large portal takes a few passes.
  3. If you want Prospex writing onto your records, switch on enrichment in the same place. It is off until you do.

The contacts scope looks over-broad on the consent screen. Prospex never reads or writes a contact — HubSpot requires it for creating notes and tasks.

Enrichment needs two further scopes, both on the company property schema. They are requested as optional, so a portal that has not granted them keeps pushing companies exactly as before, and the account page offers the reconnect that turns enrichment on.

One CRM per account. Connecting Attio while HubSpot is live is refused.

Out, when you press the button

The arrow on a signal, a company row or a dossier pushes that company across. Three objects land, and each is written only if it is not already there:

  • The company, matched on its registrable domain and created if your portal has no such record.
  • A note saying what happened and linking back into Prospex.
  • A follow-up task, due the next day, owned by the person who connected the portal.

A bulk export sends the first few immediately and queues the rest.

In, every six hours

Prospex reads your companies and matches them against the register. That match drives the In CRM column and lets a market exclude accounts you already own. The incremental pass runs six-hourly, on HubSpot's own modified timestamp. A full pass on Sunday morning catches companies deleted in your portal.

A domain that could be two Swiss companies is left unresolved. It affects about one portal company in fifteen.

Out again, continuously, if you ask

With enrichment on, every mirrored company that resolves to exactly one Prospex company gets:

  • A Prospex property group: UID, legal form and status, canton and municipality, sector, audience, employee range, share capital, purpose, tagline, a count of the last 90 days' events with the latest one's type, headline and date, and a link to the register entry.
  • Its blank native fields filled in: description, city, address, postcode, phone, country, founding year and headcount.

A native field is read seconds before it is written, so a value a person typed is never the thing that changes.

Approved openers

HubSpot is the one CRM that receives Prospect outreach. Once you approve a specific opener revision in a project, sending it to HubSpot puts the approved copy on the company as a note with a task beside it.

What it will not do

  • Overwrite a field somebody in your portal filled in.
  • Create contacts or deals.
  • Write to a company whose domain matches more than one Swiss company.
  • Send email. What lands in HubSpot is copy for a person to send.

Disconnecting revokes the token and stops every pass.
